The Problems with JPEG
Mike Pound, who does an elaborate and through explanation of a JPEG file, explains in this video the issues with text in JPEG compression. In the post-production world, specifically with motion graphics, we’ve seen this from time to time and it’s the ultimate no-no. Fair warning, this video is for those who are into the 1’s and 0’s of computing. Really interesting video and a great way to see image compression at work.
